Khuzestan, Iran: Iran has deployed troops and shut down internet services in the country’s southeastern province of Khuzestan following the anti-government protests.

Media reports said that the security forces also used tear gas to disperse anti-government protesters.

Eyewitnesses said that security forces had detained several people from Behbahan, Khuzestan. However, the cause of the protests is still not yet known.

The internet service in Khuzestan Province had been shut down since 10 am on Thursday, which is causing severe problems for users.

An Iranian told media: “People are very angry because the country’s economy is in bad shape and we can’t live like that.”
