Islamabad: The government is mulling over a proposal to reduce the retirement age of government employees to 55 years.
Sources said that the government is also considering a suggestion to appoint youths after retiring the senior employees.
A new policy is being drafted for all the government employees. They will be retired aftet giving them pre-mature pension and gratuity, according to the finance ministry documents.
In this connection, three separate committees are working. The first committee will submit recommendations on the employees of Grade 1-16 while the second on Grade 17-19 and the third on Grade 20-22.
