Islamabad: Asif Ali Zardari has acquired his Clifton residence with corruption money, the National Accountability Bureau told an accountability court here on Monday.
The accountability court heard the fake accounts case, during which the NAB had submitted a reply on sealing the house of former president and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Clifton area.
The anti-graft watchdog, in the reply, said that there were solid evidences that Asif Ali Zardari had acquired his house located in Clifton with the corruption money.
The PPP leader was provided a questionaire with regard to the said house but no response have been given. His stenographer Mushtaq had given money to Zardari to purchase the Clifton residence. Rs150 million was released from the account of Mushtaq for the purchase of the said house. The stenographer had undertaken 104 foreign tours with the former president.
The NAB told the court that Mushtaq had fled when he was included in the investigation.
