Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday appealed to the nation to celebrate the upcoming Eidul Azha with simplicity in the wake of coronavirus.
He made the appeal after inaugurating the Infections Treatment Centre here. Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chinese ambassdor and other high-ranking officials were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
The premier said that the smart lockdown was bearing positive results.
He added that the graph of virus cases had started coming down in the country.
The treatment centre has been established in a record 40 days. The centre has 250 beds and will start operation from today.
Imran warned that the virus would rapidly spread if people did not follow precautionery measures on the eve of Eidul Azha.
