LAHORE: Pakistan Railway has decided to shut down the Shalimar Express train over financial losses from July 15.
A spokesperson for the PR said that the Shalimar Express would be shut down from July 15 and in this connection a notification will be issued tomorrow (Monday).
He said that train, which runs between Karachi and Lahore is being shut down over financial losses.
On Saturday, Shalimar Express had collided with a freight train near Khanpur.
The Shalimar train was heading to Lahore from Karachi when it collided with a freight train at Jetha Bhata station.
The rail traffic was suspended on the track due to the accident, railway officials said.
