TEHRAN: Iran on Monday issued arrest warrants for US President Donald Trump and 35 others over killing of its Major General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed earlier this year in Baghdad.

Iran’s prosecutor Ali Alqasimehr said that Tehran had asked the Interpol for help in arresting Donald Trump and 35 others for their involvement in the killing of Major General Qassem Soleimani.

Earlier on January 3, Maj Gen Qassem Soleimani, the head of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) was killed in the US strike. In the same strike, Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units’s (PMU) second-in-command Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis was also killed by the American forces.

Both the commanders were killed in the US helicopter attack in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

The US helicopters targeted both the commanders while they were travelling in a car on the Baghdad International Airport road.
