KARACHI: Sindh Rangers Director General Maj Gen Umar Bukhari said on Monday that Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) was involved in the backing of the terrorists that had attacked the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

He was addressing a presser alongside Karachi Police Additional IG Ghulam Nabi at the Sindh Rangers headquarters here.

Giving details of the attack, the DG Rangers said that the four terrorists had arrived at the PSX at 10:02 am in a vehicle and carried out the attack. The security forces had completed the operation at 10:10 am. They killed all the four terrorists in just eight-minute time.

The attackers could not enter the PSX building as two of them were killed at the first picket. The remaining two were targeted a few meters ahead from the picket.

The operation was carried out by a security wing comprising Rangers, police and private security guards.

Maj Gen Bukhari said that the next phase of the operation was completed within 20 minutes. The terrorists had a plan to make the staff and people at the PSX hostage. They were carrying latest weapons, but were intercepted at the main entrance.

He added that the aim behind targeting the PSX building was to damage the Pakistan’s prosperity.
