ISLAMABAD: Defending the PTI-led government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Thursday that there had been no confusion or contradiction in the official policies since the pandemic broke out.
Speaking on the floor of the House during the budget session, the premier said that he had been insisting from the day one for a balanced strategy to fight both the virus and prevent masses from hunger.
“It has been said frequently that the government is confused in tackling the coronavirus. If there was any government, which was not confused in the world since day one, it was ours, ” the prime minister claimed.
On the occasion, he challenged the opposition to pinpoint any contradiction in his statements since the lockdown imposed in March.
Citing India, the prime minister said that lockdown policy had failed there. Over 34 per cent people have been pushed into poverty there, he added.
