LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation department has decided to change the number plates of vehicles across the province.
Excise and Taxation Department Director Rana Qamarul Hassan Sajjad said that the design of the number plates would be changed. The font size of the registration numbers will also be enlarged, he added.
He added that the decision to enlarge the registration numbers had been taken on the request of the Safe City officials.
Work will begin, in the first phase, on the number plates pending since before January 2019, the director said.
He said that about 1.8 million number plates are pending, which will be entertained soon.
