ANKARA: Turkey’s communications director Fahrettin Altun has urged the European opinion leaders, governments and policy makers to stop treating Islam as a security threat and the Muslims as potential criminals.
Speaking to a web panel during the launch of the European Islamophobia Report 2019, Altun said that Islamophobia was a global threat, which is putting the lives of millions of Muslims at risk.
The Turkish government official said that there has been significant hike in the number of attacks against Muslims, mosques and community centres in the Europe.
Turkish think-tank SETA has introduced the European Islamophobia Report 2019.
The report provides survey on the progress on Islamophobia in 32 countries in the Europe.
