RIYADH: The Saudi government has decided to reopen mosques in Makkah.
According to the Saudi media, over 1500 mosques in the Makkah city will be reopened from Sunday. The mosques were closed in March in a bid to limit the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
The mosques will be reopened after ensuring social distancing and other safety guide lines.
Earlier on May 31, the kingdom had reopened the doors of mosques to worshipers across the country except Makkah with strict regulations.
Meanwhile, the Saudi government has also announced to reopen the tourism sector from June 21. However, tourism will remained restricted in Makkah city.
