KARACHI: The residents of the Karachi’s 41 sealed union councils have been asked to take leaves from their workplaces during the lockdown.
Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani has clearly said that no one would be allowed to come out of the sealed areas.
He asked the residents of areas, which are under lockdwon to take leaves from their workplaces till July 2.
On Thursday, a smart lockdown was imposed in Karachi’s 41 union councils from 7pm today to slow the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
According to a notification from the office of the Karachi commissioner, lockdown had been imposed in hotspots for two weeks.
During the lockdown, which will end on July 2, all the entry and exits points of the hotpsot areas would be closed. All the shops will remain closed except the medical and general stores in the lockdown areas. Medical and general stores will remain open from 11am to 5pm.
No home delivery will be allowed in the areas under lockdown, the notification added.
Only one member of a family will be allowed to visit the market for grocery shopping after showing his/her national identity card.
