If you want a degree, you must study Quran with translation at university: notification

LAHORE: In a landmark decision, the Punjab government on Sunday made it mandatory to the universities to teach as a separate subject the Holy Quran with translation to the students.

In this connection, a notification has been issued here.

According to the notification, if a student does not study the Quran with translation then he/she will not be awarded a degree at the university.

It added that the lecturers would teach the Holy Quran with translation to the students at all the universities across Punjab.

The Quran with translation will be taught separately from Islamiat subject at the universities, the notification says.

The chancellor of universities in Punjab, Governor Ghulam Sarwar said that implementation on the guidelines of the Holy Quran could only lead us to a success in this life as well as in the life hereafter.
