I am happy to make comeback to Pakistan team: Sarfaraz Ahmed

KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain and wicket keeper batsman Safaraz Ahmed has said that certainly he made some mistakes which got him dropped from the team.

Speaking to the media, the Quetta Gladiators captain said that he would try not to repeat past mistakes.

Safaraz Ahmed has been included in the 29-member squad announced for the upcoming England tour,starting from August.

In October last, he was removed from the captaincy and later also dropped from the team.

“I am happy on make a comeback to the Pakistan side. I will perform well,” the 33-year-old wicket keeper told the media.

On Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced a 29-member national team for the upcoming England tour.

Pakistan will play three Tests and as many T20Is during the tour starting from August.

U-19 batsman Haider Ali and Sindh’s Kashif Bhatti have been included in the squad.

Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali and Haris Sohail are not in the side as they were unavailable for the tour.

The members of the squad are:

Openers: Abid Ali,  Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, and Shan Masood.

Middle-order batsmen:  Azhar Ali (captain), Babar Azam (Test vice-captain and T20I captain), Asad Shafiq, Fawad Alam, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmad, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik.

Wicketkeepers: Mohammad Rizwan, and Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Fast bowlers: Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Imran Khan, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sohail Khan, Usman Shinwari and Wahab Riaz.

Spinners: Imad Wasim, Kashif Bhatti, Shadab Khan, and Yasir Shah.
