Immune boosting sweet introduced to fight coronavirus

KOLKATA: A unique sweet has been introduced in India, which has been claimed to help boost immunity system against the coronavirus.

A confectionery and sweet shop named Balaram Mullick & Radharaman Mullick in the Indian city of Kolkata has launched a sweet made with 11 herbs, Indian media report said.

The makers of the sweet named as “Immunity Sandesh” have claimed that it would improve immunity system to effectively fight the Covid-19.

The 11 herbs that were used to made the “Immunity Sandesh” included cardamom (chhoti ilaichi), bay leaves (tej patta), tulsi, black pepper (kali mirch) , turmeric ((haldi), licorice (joshti modhu), nutmeg (jayfal), ginger, galangal, peepul and black cumin (kala jeera). All the herbs are mixed with cotton cheese (chenna), the makers said.

The Bengali sweet shop owner said that that Immunity Sandesh has been prepared without sugar or jiggery but honey was used to make it.
