Pakistan can’t afford lockdown anymore, says Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that the country could not afford lockdown anymore.

“There are several challenges ahead to face,” the prime minister said while speaking to the volunteers of Tiger Force.

Coronavirus has not spread from mosques, he said, adding that we can avoid crisis-like situation by following the standard operating procedures.

The world is now moving towards smart lockdown. As compared to other countries, Pakistan has low deaths from the coronavirus. The virus has to spread, we cannot stop it from spreading.

Giving details of the news tasks of the Tiger Force, the prime minister said that it would pinpoint the hoarders, problems at the utility stores and assist in the plantation drive.

He said that the members of the Tiger Force will be issued identity cards.

Our revenue has reduced by Rs800 billion. We have paid Rs5,000 billion in interests on the loans taken by the previous governments, he said.
