WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has offered to mediate on the ongoing border dispute between China and India.
In a message on Twitter, the US president said that he can resolve the ongoing border dispute between the two neighbouring countries.
Trump said that he had informed both the countries that he can play as a mediator to resolve the border dispute in Ladakh region.
Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping had ordered troops to prepare for a war amid rising tensions with India.
Speaking at the parliament, the Chinese president had said that no comprise would be made on the sovereignty of the country. Many countries have been trying to target China, he added.
He asked to the troops to start preparations for a war and enhance military exercises.
Jinping also directed the army to effectively guard the country’s interests linked with the security.
Tension has mounted between India and China in occupied Kashmir’s Ladakh region.
China is digging out bunkers in Pangong Tso lake and Galwan Valley areas to stop patrolling troops of India. China has detained several Indian soldiers in the region before releasing them.
