ISLAMABAD: 12th Rabiul Awal was celebrated with traditional zeal and fervour across the country on Monday. 

The day dawned with thirty-one gun salute in federal capital and twenty-one gun salutes in all provincial capitals to pay homage to the Prophet Muhammad.

Special conferences, events and “Mahafil-e-Naat” were arranged to pay respect to the last messenger whose entire life and teachings are beacon of light for humanity.

Mahafil-e-Naat and Milad were held all over the country while processions taken out to express love and respect for the Holy Prophet.

Mosques, key buildings, streets, roads and houses have been tastefully illuminated during the night all over the country.

Processions were taken out in small and big towns across the country in connection with.

                   2,000 cops perform duties for Milad procession

Islamabad Police have chalked out an elaborate security plan for main procession of on 12th Rabiul Awal (December 12) and strict patrolling will be ensured during procession and other religious gatherings in the city.

According to police plan, Islamabad police including Rangers and personnel of other law enforcement agencies will perform patrolling and security duties on this occasion and main procession starting from Sector G-7 will be completely cordoned off through heavy deployment.

Procession will carried out from sector G-7 (Sitara Market) and to culminate near shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Mehmud at Aabpara market after passing through various routes.

Following the directions of Senior Superintendent of Islamabad Police (SSP) Sajid Kiani, SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and other police officials will visit the routes of procession and ensure effective coordination among the security personnel performing duties.

Police officials will guide the cops and boost their morale in accomplishing duties in a responsible manner.

A total of 2,000 cops including 300 traffic cops will perform security duties on the occasion while special teams of Rangers, CID and Special Branch police will assist in smooth performance of their duties.

The police officers including SPs will also visit various police posts, lying in the route of procession, check security duties and brief cops as how to ensure effective security.

The route of procession has been divided into four various sectors and four SPs, seven DSPs and 22 Inspectors will lead security duties and monitor the security arrangements in various sectors.

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has also devised special plan to for smooth traffic flow and avoiding inconvenience to the road users.  The SSP (Traffic), Malik Matloob will lead 300 ITP personnel on this occasion to ensure smooth traffic flow in the city and divert traffic on alternate routes.

Close liaison will be maintained with organizers of procession and other gatherings in the city. Cooperation of organizers will be ensured with the police and law enforcing officials.Walk through gates will be installed at all the entry points of procession and metal detectors will be used for checking of participants.

The SSP of Islamabad Said Kiani has said Islamabad police is committed force and will come up to expectations of people for complete security to them.

                                     KARACHI AND SINDH 

12th Rabiul Awal (Peace Be Upon Him) was celebrated in Karachi and the rest of the province on Monday with religious fervour and enthusiasm.

Mahafil-i-Milad and processions were organised across the city to mark this auspicious occasion in a befitting manner.

Religious, social, academic and political organisations held programmes to celebrate 12th Rabiul Awal (PBUH) and shed light on the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).

The main procession of the 12th Rabi-ul-Awal in Karachi was taken out from Memon Masjid and it culminated at Nishter Park.

Radio and television aired special programmes, while newspaper spublished special supplements in connection with 12th Rabiul Awal (PBUH)

The Sindh police made elaborate security arrangements on the occasion.

More than 47,000 policemen were deployed to perform security duty in Sindh on the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, a spokesman for the Sindh police said.

In Karachi, 4,860 police officers and jawans were deployed forsecurity of the main procession, he added.

He said that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, had directed that foolproof security arrangements be made on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the city streets, buildings and mosques were illuminated and decorated with flags and buntings.

The District Municipal Corporations made arrangements for the cleanliness and provision of civic amenities, especially along the route of the main procession.

                                           HYDERABAD

12th Rabiul Awal was celebrated with traditional enthusiasm, festivity, religious fervour and sanctity on Monday like other parts of the country.

The day began with thanks giving prayers in Fajar in all Masajid of Hyderabad district and after that the people started preparation to celebrate the day. Various Milad-un-Nabi processions were taken out under religious and social welfare organizations from Hyderabad City, Latifabad, Qasimabad and Hyderabad Rural talukas which marched on roads with traditional costumes.

These small processions later assembled at Silawat Para Market from where, the main procession was brought out after Zuhar prayer which after marching traditional routes of Market, Tilak Incline and Station Road terminated at Koh Noor Chowk where the participants also offered Maghrib prayer.

The main procession was duly escorted by heavy contingent of Police and Rangers while the policemen were also deployed at the rooftops of the buildings of the routes of the procession in order to avert any ward incident.

The ceremonial gates were installed at different spots of the main procession route where the participants were accorded warm welcome by the area people with showering rose petals and offering “Niaz”.

Almost all Masajid, public and private buildings were decorated with colourful buntings and flag garlands to celebrate the day.

Besides 12th Rabiul Awal processions, Muhafil-e-Milad and “Naat Khawani” events were also organized with participation of large numbers of people.

The district administration has adopted strict security arrangements to ensure law and order with deployment of Police and Rangers, however no untoward incident was reported during the day, the police spokesman informed.

In Punjab, 12th Rabiul Awal was celebrated in the province including Lahore like elsewhere in the country with Islamic veneration fervor and zeal. In this regard, various ceremonies and events taken out in the city including conferences, processions, rallies and religious sittings in which the Ulema and scholars highlighted the various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet.

                                    Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

rawalpindi-2In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA 12th Rabiul Awal was celebrated with religious zeal and fervor. In Peshawar, the main procession in connection with 12th Rabiul Awal was taken out from Milad Chowk after Esha prayers.

                                           Balochistan

quetta12th Rabiul Awal was celebrated in Balochistan with traditional religious reverence and enthusiasm .

In this connection, small processions were taken out from various areas of Quetta city, which later joined the main procession, which terminated at its destination.

                                    Azad Jammu & Kashmir

12th Rabiul Awal (P.B.U.H), the birth day of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was celebrated on Monday across Azad Jammu & Kashmir with fullest and traditional religious fervor and reverence.

The auspicious day dawned with special prayers at in the mosques throughout AJK for the upholding and flourishing of Islam and Islamic teachings, unity, solidarity, progress and welfare of the Muslim world, security and stability of Pakistan and Kashmir and for the liberation all the occupied Muslim homelands including the occupied part of the Jammu Kashmir state from long Indian subjugation.

Major ceremonies to celebrate the day with fullest religious devotion and respect were held in all small and major towns and cities and villages across the liberated territory.

Ulema, religious scholars other speakers paid glorious tributes to the last prophet-Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) for his great and remarkable services for giving a right direction to the humanity through conveying and flourishing the message of Allah Almighty particularly for the Muslim Ummah besides upholding the teachings of Islam.

They said that this auspicious day of renewal of the pledge that best way for the Muslims to get rid, is to strictly act upon the orders of Allah Almighty and the sayings of the Holy prophet- Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) for their (Muslim Ummah) bright future in and after the world.

                       No load shedding on 12th Rabiul Awal

The Ministry of Water and Power has directed the power distribution companies (DISCOs) to avoid routine load shedding on the occasion of 12th Rabiul Awal (PBUH).

According to a priavte news channel, the ministry has also ordered to ensure presence of emergency teams inthe field to restore power supply at earliest in case of any technical problem.
