QUETTA: At least 11 people Wednesday wounded in a hand grenade attack near a mini bus stand in Awaran town, police said.
According to police, unidentified men riding motorcycle hurled hand grenade at a group of people near mini bus stand in the town and fled from the scene.
“As a result 11 people sustained injuries,” they said. The rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to hospital. According to doctors, condition of some injured was critical who have been referred to Karachi.
“We have provided emergency medical aid to the injured, however, condition of some wounded was in danger and they have been referred to Karachi,” said a doctor at the District Headquarters Hospital Awaran.
The blast shattered windowpanes of nearby building and created panic and harassment among people. There was no immediately claim of the responsibility of the attack.
The law enforcement agencies have cordoned of the entire area and launched search operation to trace the suspects involved in the subversive act.
