WASHINGTON: National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) has predicted that an enormous piece of ice would apart from Antarctica within five years and dissolve in the sea due to climate affects.
NASA revealed that 10,000 old 625 square miles of the Larsen B Ice Shelf in northwest Antarctica is likely to shatter into hundreds of icebergs. These types of ice shelves are barriers for glacier to dissolve. Sea level would increase due to the incident.
The 2002 partial collapse of Larsen B was a wakeup call to scientists studying global climate change. Experts said that ice shelves were dissolving due to global warming in the world.
